Single story homes are becoming more and more in demand and harder and harder to find.   In the 50’s and 60’s these homes were pretty much the standard.  In 1973 single story homes accounted for 67% of home construction nationally.  Then the popularity of these homes subsided and the two- story home became the favorite of buyers.

The trend is changing once again and single story homes are on the upswing.  The aging population and their demand for homes that have accessibility may be one reason.  There is also an increase in demand for smaller homes and homes that offer reduced maintenance.  Whatever the reason, the single story home is becoming increasingly popular.
