Beechwood Elementary School in part of the Fullerton School District in Orange County;  it’s one out of two K-8 schools in the Fullerton School District.  Beechwood Elementary re-opened its doors in the fall of 1999, largely due to the community’s demand due to new housing developments in the Beechwood school area.  It’s is one of Fullerton’s smaller and highly sought after schools.  They first started out with just one class per grade and low teacher per student ratio, but they now have two classes for most grades.  They are also a highly desirable school because they are one of only a few schools in Southern California that have an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program.   Beechwood has been named in recent years a California Distinguished School, as well as a National Blue Ribbon School.  Their staff and students have an overall API ranking of 10 as well as for the last three years a great schools ranking of 10. Their schools motto is: “The Beechwood School community works together to ensure that each student receives a rigorous and balanced educational program in a caring environment where intercultural understanding and respect are valued. All children will develop critical skills that will allow them to effectively communicate, collaborate with peers, investigate & solve problems, and achieve their full academic and creative potential.”
